Limewire and Ares: A Comparison

limewire and ares a comparison

Limewire has been the most popular file-sharing choice for most people for some time now. Ares and other peer-to-peer software are not very far behind. Some users tend to download the best available software out there in terms of reviews and critiques, while some try them all and look for the most convenient one for them.

Being less popular has somehow made Ares the only file-sharing program of its kind to work behind security firewalls, giving access to university students and corporate people. Its chat capability is also a very cool addition, along with its built-in media player and file organizer.

What made Limewire a more popular choice than Ares, though, is its advantage in terms of saving searches. Unlike Ares, each search has its own tab separating it from the other searches so you would not have to clear your search whenever you make a new one.

However, the best part of Ares is the enormous amount of results you obtain when you make a search. It exceeds the amount of data you will find on Limewire generally because of its larger network. This greater network also provides you download with significantly faster speeds, specially with larger files.
